Modern homes are built tight for energy efficiency, but that means stale air, moisture, and indoor pollutants can build up. A Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) or Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) continuously exchanges stale indoor air for fresh outdoor air — while recovering up to 80% of the heat energy. Queensway installs and services Lifebreath, Venmar, Daikin, and other leading HRV/ERV brands.

Common Questions About HRV & ERV Installation

What's the difference between an HRV and an ERV?

An HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) transfers heat between incoming and outgoing air, ideal for heating climates like Ontario. An ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) also transfers moisture, which helps maintain indoor humidity during dry winters. We'll recommend the right unit for your home.

Do I need an HRV in my home?

Ontario Building Code requires HRVs in all new homes built since 2017. If your home is well-sealed and you notice stale air, condensation on windows, or high humidity, adding an HRV can significantly improve your indoor air quality and comfort.
